Description

Industrial converter designed for bidirectional communication between an RS485 bus and a computer equipped with a USB port. The design is based on the CH9101R controller compliant with the USB 2.0 standard, providing stable half-duplex data transmission at speeds ranging from 300 bps to 3 Mbps. The device is suitable for building automation systems, Modbus networks, communication with inverters, energy meters, PLC controllers, and for commissioning and servicing industrial equipment.

The converter features advanced surge protection circuits that protect the communication interface against disturbances occurring in industrial environments. The integrated 120 Ω termination resistor enables proper RS485 bus matching, while three LED indicators provide information about power status and data transmission activity (PWR, TX, RX).

The device utilizes a USB-A connector and a Phoenix Contact MC 3.5 mm screw terminal with A, B, and GND connections. Support for CDC class drivers enables Plug and Play operation on systems equipped with built-in communication drivers, while VCP drivers allow the converter to function as a virtual COM port in applications using serial communication. The miniature enclosure measuring 48 × 20 × 13 mm allows convenient use in both permanent installations and service applications.
