The compact LSM9DS1 9-DOF sensor module integrates three sensors in one: a classic 3-axis accelerometer for measuring acceleration, a 3-axis magnetometer for detecting magnetic fields (e.g., magnetic north), and a 3-axis gyroscope for measuring rotation and angular velocity. Combining data from these sensors enables precise orientation tracking. With its compact dimensions and compatibility with the STEMMA QT system, the module can be easily connected to an I2C bus without soldering. Simply use a QT cable to quickly obtain 9-DOF data when interfaced with a microcontroller, such as the STM32F405 Feather. The module features a built-in voltage regulator and supports devices powered by 3V or 5V, making it highly versatile. Additionally, exposed SPI and I2C interfaces and interrupt pins simplify integration into various projects. The LSM9DS1 module is ideal for applications such as robotics, gaming and simulators, wearable electronics, motion tracking, and 3D navigation. It can also be used in drones, camera stabilization systems, VR and AR devices, and advanced automation systems.
