Infrared sensor module for presence and motion detection based on the STHS34PF80, featuring an I2C interface and STEMMA QT / Qwiic connectors, capable of detecting objects up to 4 m without a lens. Adafruit 6426
The Adafruit 6426 STHS34PF80 is designed to detect presence, motion and temperature changes of objects based on infrared radiation. Unlike classic PIR sensors, the module does not require a Fresnel lens, which simplifies integration into compact enclosures and space-constrained devices. The sensor is capable of detecting both moving and stationary objects at distances of up to approximately 4 m.
Communication is handled via the I2C bus, providing detailed measurement data including presence, motion and temperature information. An integrated 3.3 V regulator and logic-level shifting allow compatibility with both 3.3 V and 5 V systems. The STEMMA QT form factor with Qwiic compatibility enables solder-free connections and easy daisy-chaining with other I2C modules.
