Compact evaluation board for testing NOR and NAND flash memory supported by emFile drivers. Enables fast and reliable flash programming with SEGGER tools, offering support for various packages such as SO-8, SO-16, BGA and SON. SEGGER (Q)SPI Flash Evaluator (6.40.00)
The SEGGER (Q)SPI Flash Evaluator is an easy-to-use evaluation board designed for testing NOR and NAND flash memory supported by the emFile drivers. It enables both direct and indirect programming of serial flash memory using SEGGER debugging tools and production programmers, including the Flasher series. This allows for fast and reliable programming of microcontrollers and memory devices. Tested flash memories are mounted on dedicated adapter boards, which connect to the main evaluation board via an 8x2 connector. Various adapters are available for popular packages such as SO-8, SO-16, BGA, and SON, providing flexibility in testing different types of flash memory.
(Q)SPI Flash is a cost-effective way to expand non-volatile memory in embedded systems. However, selecting the right memory can be time-consuming due to differences in performance, reliability, and compatibility across models. SEGGER developed the (Q)SPI Flash Evaluator to simplify this process, allowing engineers to quickly test flash memory for performance and integration with SEGGER software solutions. By directly connecting a programmer to the SPI bus, users can test direct programming. For indirect programming, the programmer communicates with the microcontroller, which then transfers data to the flash memory. Additionally, users can compare the speed and reliability of different flash memory solutions against SEGGER's emFile. SEGGER also provides an evaluation package that enables full flash memory testing in under 15 minutes, making it an ideal solution for engineers looking to select the best (Q)SPI Flash for their project.
