Description

The XBee RR 802.15.4 RF module is a built-in solution providing wireless connectivity compliant with the IEEE 802.15.4 network protocol. It ensures fast point-to-multipoint or peer-to-peer communication, ideal for applications requiring high throughput, low latency, and predictable communication times. XBee RR 802.15.4 RF is an excellent choice for cost-effective, energy-efficient wireless sensor networks, ensuring reliable data transmission between devices. The modules operate in the 2.4 GHz ISM band and allow local configuration via BLE with the Digi XBee mobile application. They are equipped with the Silicon Labs EFR32MG SoC transceiver chipset, featuring 1 MB flash memory and 96 kB RAM. They offer RF data transmission speeds up to 250 Kbps and serial speeds up to 1 Mbps. The range indoors reaches up to 90 m, while in open spaces it extends up to 3200 m. The modules can communicate with the main module via UART or SPI interface.

The XBee RR modules are functionally equivalent to XBee3, but they do not offer MicroPython or full BLE programmable services available in XBee3.
