Description

The USRP B200-mini is a compact platform that is suitable for both hobby and OEM applications. It was designed by Ettus Research and provides a wide frequency range (from 70 MHz to 6 GHz) and a user programmable, industrial Xilinx Spartan-6 XC6SLX75 FPGA chip. The USRP can both transmit and receive RF signals.

The module uses Analog Devices AD9364 RFIC transceiver with 56 MHz bandwidth. The signal processing and control of the AD9364 is done by a Spartan-6 XC6SLX75 FPGA chip connected to a computer via SuperSpeed USB 3.0. The real-time USRP B200 system throughput will be up to 61.44 MS / s, providing a full 56 MHz instantaneous RF bandwidth.

The module uses the USRP Hardware Driver (UHD). It is a library that runs on a general purpose processor (GPP) and communicates with and controls all devices from the USRP family, and allows you to prototype your own GSM base station with OpenBTS. UHD enables programming with C/C++ as well as Python API and offers support for many platforms, development environments and frameworks, including RFNoC, GNU Radio, LabVIEW and Matlab / Simulink. The driver is available for Linux, Windows and Mac OS. UHD provides the necessary control during the transfer of the sample waveform to and from the USRP equipment, and controls various parameters (e.g., sampling rate, center frequency, gains, etc.) of the radio.

The board was placed in a metal protective enclosure. The kit comes with a guide to help you get started with the kit.
