The category includes ready-built FPV drones and kits for self-assembly, available in BNF, PNP, RTF and KIT configurations. The range covers compact Tinywhoop and Cinewhoop platforms, Freestyle and Racing drones, Long Range platforms, and Cinematic models designed for capturing dynamic aerial footage. Individual drones differ in size, weight, supply voltage, control system, and video transmission system, allowing the configuration to be matched to the intended type of flight.

FPV drones are available in designs adapted to different flying styles. Tinywhoop covers lightweight and compact platforms, often equipped with protected propellers. Cinewhoop designs are adapted for capturing smooth footage, including flights in confined spaces. Freestyle and Racing drones focus on dynamic performance, manoeuvrability, and propulsion system efficiency, while Long Range platforms focus on extended range and flight time. Cinematic platforms are primarily intended for flights focused on recording video footage.
The configuration designation indicates the drone's level of assembly and the components required before flight. BNF (Bind-N-Fly) refers to an assembled drone equipped with a receiver that needs to be paired with a compatible control system. PNP (Plug-N-Play) usually refers to a ready-built platform without a receiver, allowing the user to select their preferred control system. RTF (Ready-To-Fly) describes a package supplied as comprehensively as possible for getting started, while KIT refers to a set of components intended for self-assembly. The exact contents of each configuration depend on the specific model and manufacturer.
FPV drones can use different control systems, including ExpressLRS (ELRS) 2.4 GHz, ELRS 868 MHz, and TBS Crossfire. PNP versions allow users to install a receiver compatible with their preferred control system. Video transmission can use digital systems such as DJI O4 and HDZero, or analog solutions operating in the 5.8 GHz band. The selected system determines compatibility with the transmitter, goggles, and other FPV equipment.
Drone size should be matched to its intended application, propeller size, and required flight characteristics. FPV drones include small platforms specified by dimensions such as 65 mm, 75 mm, and 85 mm, as well as designs classified by propeller size, including 2", 3", 3.5", 5", and 7". Propulsion systems can use battery configurations ranging from compact 1S and 2S packs to higher-powered 4S and 6S setups.
When selecting an FPV drone, consider the drone type, size, takeoff weight, control system, video transmission system, battery voltage, and GPS availability. A broad range of configurations allows users to select anything from a compact drone for flying in confined spaces to larger Freestyle, Racing, Long Range, or Cinematic platforms. For BNF and PNP versions, compatibility with the existing control and video transmission equipment should be checked carefully.
