This indoor air quality measurement module combines two high-quality sensors from Sensirion – the SCD41 and SEN55. It offers a comprehensive set of measurements, including CO2 concentration, volatile organic compounds (VOC), particulate matter (PM1.0, PM2.5, PM4, PM10), as well as temperature and relative humidity.
The SCD41 Sensor uses PASens® technology based on photoacoustic measurements, where narrowband infrared light and an internal microphone allow for precise detection of CO2 concentrations ranging from 0 to 40,000 ppm. The accuracy within the range of 400 to 5000 ppm is ±(40 ppm + 5%). This sensor also integrates temperature and humidity measurement, which further enhances the accuracy of readings. For even better results, the SCD41 also measures atmospheric pressure, and with automatic calibration, the sensor adapts to its environment.
The SEN55 Sensor utilizes Sensirion's algorithms, enabling easy integration with various air quality monitoring applications. Particulate matter measurement includes particles in sizes PM1, PM2.5, PM4, and PM10, ranging from 0 to 1000 µg/m³, as well as VOC and NOx indices ranging from 1 to 500 points. The module provides a wide set of control registers that enable accurate monitoring of measurement results and component status via the I2C interface.
Thanks to the Qwiic system connection, the module enables easy power supply and communication using a single connector, eliminating the need for additional wiring and simplifying integration with air quality monitoring systems.
