The BME688 sensor module is an integrated gas, pressure, temperature and humidity sensor housed in a single MEMS package. The chip has been developed specifically for mobile applications and wearables, where size and low power consumption are key requirements. The gas sensor in the BME688 can detect a wide range of gases to measure air quality, including volatile organic compounds (VOCs) from paints (such as formaldehyde), varnishes, paint strippers, cleaners, furniture, office equipment, adhesives and alcohol. It has built-in AI functions to facilitate data processing. It is powered from 3 V to 5 V and communication is via an I2C or SPI interface. Full documentation is available on the product page.
