This book is intended mainly for beginners who want to get to know 32-bit ARM microcontrollers with the Cortex-M3 core more closely. It contains 35 extensive exercises that allow readers to explore the capabilities of the STM32F1xx series systems manufactured by STMicroelectronics. The way the exercises are conducted allows both for self-study of programming and for using the book, for example, as a basis for conducting courses and laboratory classes in schools or universities. The examples were prepared in the C language in the STM32 CubeIDE environment along with the STM32 CubeMX tool and using the STM32F1 HAL library.

In addition to the exercises, the book also contains descriptions of the peripheral subunits used, such as input/output ports, timer systems, A/D converters, communication interfaces, interrupt controller, and DMA mechanism. Furthermore, it also describes how to use several interesting expansion modules (including a keyboard, LCD displays, SD card, accelerometer, barometer, Bluetooth module). This part of the book may also be interesting for those with a slightly higher level of advancement in microcontroller programming.
