Description
The Waveshare IMX290 2MP Camera (A) is intended for applications requiring good image quality in low-light conditions and accurate scene reproduction without geometric distortion. The Sony IMX290 sensor features high light sensitivity, enabling clear images in dim environments without excessive noise or motion blur.
The CMOS sensor with a resolution of 1920 × 1080 pixels and a 1/2.8-inch optical format works with a lens offering a 94° field of view, allowing capture of a wide observation area. The lens features very low distortion, below −0.3%, providing natural shape reproduction, which is important in surveillance systems, image analysis, and machine vision applications.
Communication with Raspberry Pi boards is handled via the CSI interface. Included 15-pin and 15-pin to 22-pin cables enable compatibility with different CSI connector variants used across the Raspberry Pi family, including Raspberry Pi Zero, Raspberry Pi 4, and Raspberry Pi 5.
