ArduCAM UVC AI is a compact camera with built-in artificial intelligence designed for computer vision applications running directly on the device (Edge AI). The module uses a Sony IMX500 sensor with a resolution of 12.3 MP, which integrates image processing and AI computing functions in a single chip. This allows image analysis to be performed locally, without the need to send data to the cloud or an external server. Such a solution provides low latency, increased data privacy, and the ability to operate in environments without Internet access. The camera is compatible with the USB3 UVC interface, ensuring full plug-and-play functionality without installing additional drivers.
The module works with the Arducam AI Model Zoo and the Sony AITRIOS™ platform, providing access to many ready-to-use artificial intelligence models. This enables rapid implementation of functions such as object detection, image segmentation, pose estimation, and classification. Thanks to the high sensor resolution and optimized optics, the camera delivers clear images and stable performance in various lighting conditions. The integrated M12 lens with a wide field of view allows observation of a large scene area, which is particularly useful in monitoring and automation systems.
The camera communicates with a computer via USB 3.2 Gen 1 with a reversible USB-C connector, while remaining compatible with USB 2.0 hosts. Support for the UVC standard enables quick operation on Windows and Linux systems without installing drivers. The device supports multiple image adjustment parameters such as brightness, contrast, white balance, and exposure.
