Description

ACS37042 Micro Carrier is a compact module based on the Allegro current sensor, utilizing Hall effect technology and providing galvanic isolation for current measurement. The device features a very low current path resistance, minimizing energy losses and ensuring high accuracy in both DC and AC current measurement. The analog output offers a wide bandwidth of 150 kHz, allowing fast and precise current detection in dynamic systems. The sensor response time is less than 5 µs, making it ideal for applications requiring quick reaction.

The module provides five essential pins: current inputs IP+ and IP-, logic power supply VDD and GND, and signal output VOUT. The supply voltage should be connected to the VDD and GND pads marked on the bottom of the board. The VOUT output generates an analog signal with an idle value of 1.65 V, which changes proportionally to the input current. Positive current increases the output voltage, while negative current decreases it.

The board can be integrated into the current path in various ways, depending on the application. In typical high-current applications, it is possible to solder 10 AWG wires directly to the mounting holes. These holes are also compatible with M3.5 mounting holes as well as screw terminals with a 3.5 mm or 5 mm pitch, making installation in both prototypes and final systems easier. Alternatively, goldpin connectors can be used, but they are not recommended for high current values.

The sensor features integrated temperature compensation, improving accuracy across the entire operating temperature range from -40°C to 125°C, compliant with automotive standards. The device is non-ratiometric, meaning its zero point and sensitivity remain unaffected by supply voltage fluctuations, ensuring immunity to interference. Thanks to its compact size, it is perfectly suited for space-constrained projects.
