Pololu 5296
ACS37220 Hall Effect Current Sensor is a current sensing module based on the Hall effect, offering electrical isolation and a wide bandwidth of 150 kHz. Thanks to its ultra-low conductive path resistance, it ensures minimal power loss and high measurement efficiency. The sensor can be placed anywhere in the circuit and is suitable for applications requiring galvanic isolation. The use of differential Hall sensing provides immunity to external magnetic fields, enhancing measurement accuracy. The sensor outputs an analog voltage proportional to the current value, supporting both DC (direct current) and AC (alternating current) measurements. The module operates on a supply voltage between 3.15 V and 3.45 V, and the output is ratiometric—centered at VCC/2, varying by 8.8 mV per amp of current.
To function correctly, the sensor requires five connections: current input (IP+ and IP-), logic power (VCC and GND), and the sensor output (VOUT). The FAULT pin is pulled up to VDD by default and goes low when the current (IP) exceeds the overcurrent threshold in either direction, indicating a fault condition. The module is built on a multi-layer PCB for durability and reliability. Large mounting holes allow for direct wire connections or terminal usage. Alternatively, 2.54 mm spaced holes are available, though not recommended for high-current applications. With high accuracy, flexible mounting options, and strong EMI resistance, the sensor is well-suited for power systems, converters, battery monitoring, and motor control systems.
