Description

ACS37041 Micro Carrier is a compact module based on the Allegro ACS37041KLHBLT-010B3 current sensor, which utilizes Hall effect technology and provides galvanic isolation of the measurement. The device features a very low primary path resistance of ~1.6 mΩ, minimizing energy losses and ensuring high measurement accuracy for both DC and AC currents. The analog output offers a wide bandwidth of 150 kHz, allowing fast and precise current measurement in dynamic systems. The sensor’s response time is less than 5 µs, making it ideal for applications requiring a rapid response.

The module includes five essential pins: current inputs IP+ and IP-, logic power supply VDD and GND, and the signal output VOUT. The supply voltage should be connected to the VDD and GND pads marked on the bottom of the board. The VOUT pin outputs an analog signal with a resting value of 1.65 V, which changes proportionally to the input current. Increasing current in the positive direction raises the output voltage, while negative current decreases it, with a sensitivity of 132 mV/A.

The board can be connected to the current path in various ways, depending on the application. In typical high-current systems, wires can be soldered directly to the mounting holes. These holes are also compatible with screw terminals with a 3.5 mm or 5 mm pitch, simplifying installation in prototype and final setups. Alternatively, goldpin headers can be used for connection.

The sensor provides integrated temperature compensation, improving accuracy across the full operating temperature range of -40°C to 125°C, compliant with automotive standards. The circuit is non-ratiometric, meaning its zero point and sensitivity are independent of supply voltage fluctuations, ensuring strong noise immunity. The module operates with a supply voltage of 3.0 V to 3.6 V and supports a bidirectional measurement range from -10 A to +10 A. Its small size makes it ideal for use in compact electronic projects.
