Precision Hall effect current sensor, providing galvanic isolation and wide 250 kHz bandwidth. Low conductive path resistance, magnetic interference immunity and ratiometric analog output make it ideal for AC and DC current monitoring applications. Pololu 5281
ACS72981 Hall Effect Current Sensor is a current sensor module based on the Hall effect, offering electrical isolation and a wide bandwidth of 250 kHz. With an extremely low conduction path resistance, it ensures minimal power losses and high measurement efficiency. The sensor can be placed anywhere in the circuit and used in applications requiring galvanic isolation. Thanks to the implementation of differential Hall measurement, the device is resistant to external magnetic fields, enhancing reading accuracy. The sensor provides an analog voltage proportional to the current value, enabling measurements of both DC (direct current) and AC (alternating current). The module operates with a supply voltage from 3 V to 3.6 V, and its output is ratiometric, meaning that its midpoint value is VCC/2 and changes by 6.6 mV × (VCC/3.3 V) per ampere of flowing current. Its short response time makes the sensor ideal for fast measurement systems and real-time current monitoring.

For proper operation, the sensor requires five connections: current input (IP+ and IP-), logic power supply (VCC and GND), and sensor output (VIOUT). The module utilizes a multilayer PCB, ensuring high durability and reliability. Large mounting holes allow for wire connections up to 2 AWG or the use of ring terminals. Alternatively, holes with 2.54 mm, 3.5 mm, and 5 mm spacing are available, but they are not recommended for high-current applications. With high accuracy, extensive mounting options, and resistance to interference, the sensor is widely used in power systems, power converters, battery monitoring systems, and motor control applications.
