The distance and light intensity sensor module based on the VL6180X system is equipped with a voltage stabilizer and logic level converters. The sensor uses Time of Flight (ToF) technology to obtain accurate results regardless of the surface and color of the object being detected.

The default range of the sensor is 1-20 cm, to get a measurement resolution of 1 mm, set the range to 10 cm. The maximum possible distance to be measured with reduced resolution is 60 cm.
The measurement results can be read via the I2C interface with a maximum speed of 400 kHz (Fast Mode). The sensor operates at a voltage of 2.7 V but thanks to the stabilizer and logic level converters the module can operate at a voltage in the range of 2.7-5.5 V.
