Description

GNSS module based on L76B chip and designed to work with Raspberry Pi. It can work with GPS, BDS and QZSS systems and provides high positioning accuracy with low power consumption. It can track GPS and BeiDou signals simultaneously with its 33 tracking channels, 99 acquisition channels and 210 PRN channels. Compared to using GPS only, the inclusion of both GPS and BeiDou doubles the number of visible satellites, reduces the time to first data and improves positioning accuracy especially in crowded urban areas.

The receiver provides good performance and meets industry requirements by combining a state-of-the-art AGPS system called EASYTM (Embedded Assist System) with the acclaimed AlwaysLocateTM technology. LOCUS, an optional built-in logger feature, enables the GPS HAT to log position data to internal flash memory at default intervals of 15 seconds, providing more than 16 hours of logging. It communicates via a UART interface. The board includes a voltage backup battery socket and 4 LEDs to indicate operation. The module is powered by 3.3 V.
