Description

The Waveshare L76K GPS HAT is an advanced GNSS module in the HAT standard, designed for Raspberry Pi boards equipped with a 40-pin GPIO header, as well as compatible Jetson and RDK platforms. The module supports combined or independent positioning using GPS, BeiDou (BDS), GLONASS, and QZSS, delivering high accuracy and reliable positioning.

The L76K chipset (AT6558R platform) operates in the L1 band and provides fast time-to-first-fix (TTFF), especially when using the A-GNSS function. An onboard low-noise amplifier (LNA) and SAW filter improve reception sensitivity and effectively reduce interference, ensuring stable operation even in challenging environments.

The module communicates via the UART interface with a configurable baud rate from 4800 to 115200 bps. An onboard ML1220 battery holder maintains ephemeris data and enables fast hot starts. Integrated LED indicators provide clear status information for power, data transmission, and GNSS operation.

The L76K GPS HAT is suitable for applications such as vehicle and asset tracking, security systems, GIS applications, industrial mobile devices, IoT projects, as well as education and prototyping.
