Description
The full-color LED matrix Waveshare RGB-Matrix-P4-80x40 provides 3200 RGB light points arranged in an 80 × 40px layout. Its 4mm pixel pitch and 320 × 160 × 14.8mm dimensions make the panel suitable for displaying text, graphics and animations in information boards, wall-mounted displays, desktop projects and other LED matrix applications.
The panel uses the HUB75 interface and provides two data headers. One connector receives signals from the controller, while the second forwards data to another panel. Cascade support allows multiple modules to be connected to create larger display surfaces.
The matrix operates in 1/20 scan mode with synchronous control. The specified viewing angle is at least 140°. The panel requires a 5V / 4A power supply through a VH4 connector, while maximum power consumption is 20W. Display brightness can be adjusted through the controller.
Waveshare provides open-source examples for ESP32, Raspberry Pi, Arduino and STM32. The available development resources simplify integration of the panel with custom controllers and configuration of HUB75 communication.
