Description

The Pololu DC motor is equipped with a 210:1 metal gear. The motor of the set is designed for supplying 6 V and generates a torque of 3 kg*cm (0.3 Nm). The current consumed by the unloaded motor is about 70 mA, while the maximum current drawn under load is 1.6 A. The motor has an extended shaft on the opposite side of the motor, it allows easy mounting of the encoder or other shaft position sensor. In this set the manufacturer used the HP series engine, which means that it is equipped with classic brushes made of plaques. An alternative is the HPCB series of motors and gearboxes, which are equipped with carbon brushes. The gearbox has a D-shaped output shaft with a diameter of 3 mm, which simplifies the assembly of the further part of the drive system.
