The M5Stack U040-B-V21 (PaHub v2.1) is a peripheral module used to split a single I2C bus into six independent communication channels. The solution enables simultaneous operation of multiple I2C devices, including modules with identical I2C addresses, by switching the active communication channel.
The design is based on the PCA9548AP and provides six Grove (HY2.0-4P) ports, allowing direct connection of M5Stack sensors and modules. A DIP switch enables configuration of the module’s I2C address in the range 0x70–0x77, which allows cascading multiple PaHub modules within a single system. The module is used in IoT projects, automation, measurement systems, and advanced prototypes that require a large number of I2C devices.
