The module with the BME688 sensor is an integrated gas, pressure, temperature and humidity sensor placed in one MEMS housing. The chip has been specially developed for mobile applications and wearables where size and low power consumption are key requirements. The gas sensor on the BME688 can detect a wide range of air quality gases, including volatile organic compounds (VOCs) from paints (such as formaldehyde), varnishes, paint strippers, cleaning products, furniture, office equipment, adhesives and alcohol. It is powered with the voltage from 3 V to 5 V, and communication is via the I2C interface (STEMMA QT connector). Full documentation is available on the product page.
