Factory equipment for digital SLR is usually very expensive. Having some knowledge about photography and a flair for electronics, you can build many interesting devices to expand the functional capabilities of the camera. One of these 'snap' is the timer. It allows you to irradiate pictures for a given time, also has the ability to remotely trigger - an important feature, for example when shooting animals.
