The theme of the June edition of Practical Electronics is building prototypes of electronic devices. Under the heading "25 years has passed" one of our authors, an experienced constructor - an electronic engineer describes how the building of prototypes has changed over the years. Among the projects, it is worth paying attention to the "Battery capacity meter", thanks to which neither winter will surprise us, when the battery will not be able to start the car or the lack of electricity on the plot. It is also worth familiarizing yourself with the interesting idea and design of a retro device. If there is an old, analog telephone with a shield somewhere in the house, in the proverbial drawer or in the attic, maybe it is not worth it to throw away? An ingenious "snap" will arm him with the option of tone dialing and the memory of several, frequently dialed numbers. For developers creating applications for STM32, it is useful to describe the latest TrueStudio and libraries to support modules offered by Digilent. We are also continuing the unique STM8 programming course. I invite you to read!

The RoboClaw motor controllers from Ion Motion Control (formerly Orion Robotics) can control a pair of brushed DC motors using USB serial, TTL serial, RC, or analog inputs. Integrated dual quadrature decoders make it easy to create a closed-loop speed control system. This version can supply a continuous 7.5 A per channel (15 A peak).
