EVALSP320SPLC is an evaluation board in MII mode designed for testing the functionality of SPEAr320S-2 microcontrollers in industrial and networking applications. It provides a rich set of communication interfaces and input/output extensions and works with the CPU board EVALSP320SCPU, ordered separately.
Description
The EVALSP320SPLC starter kit, designed for evaluating the SPEAr320S-2 microprocessor, enables testing of communication and interface functions in MII (Media Independent Interface) mode, particularly in industrial and automation applications. The kit includes an application board labeled “MII mode,” equipped with numerous communication connectors: two Ethernet RJ-45 ports, three RS-232 interfaces, one RS-485, two CAN, as well as SPI, I2C, and MicroSD connectors with an SDIO interface. The board also provides digital input and output lines compatible with selected ST evaluation kits and analog extensions, including a potentiometer and a temperature sensor. Additionally, it features two user buttons, four LEDs, and a general-purpose connector with GPIO and I2C lines. Power can be supplied within the range of 7–30 V DC or directly from a 24 V industrial line thanks to the integrated L7986A DC/DC converter. The kit does not include the CPU board with the SPEAr320S-2 microprocessor, which is available separately under the code EVALSP320SCPU.
