STEVAL-ESC001V1 is an advanced, compact, and fully pre-configured electronic speed controller (ESC) module designed primarily for modern racing drones and lightweight unmanned aerial vehicles. The device enables quick startup and testing of three-phase brushless motors (BLDC or PMSM), powered from 6S LiPo packs or another compatible DC source. Thanks to compatibility with the STM32 Motor Control SDK (X-CUBE-MCSDK), the project allows you to start the motor and rotor within minutes, significantly reducing development time. The integrated STM32F303CBT7 microcontroller with an Arm® Cortex®-M4 core delivers high computational performance and full support for sensorless FOC, ensuring smooth operation and high energy efficiency. The reference design also includes an advanced 3-shunt current-sensing system, accurate BEMF detection, and active braking features that increase control precision and safety.

With support for PWM, UART, CAN, and I²C communication, the module can be easily integrated with most flight controllers used in commercial drones. Its small dimensions allow installation even in very compact builds, where every gram and cubic millimeter matters. The system also provides overcurrent and overvoltage protection, an integrated 5 V / 0.5 A BEC, and an NTC sensor for temperature monitoring. Thanks to the use of STripFET™ F7 MOSFETs with very low Rds(on), the module ensures high current capability and low power losses. It is an ideal solution for drone builders, hobbyists, educators, and designers working with BLDC or PMSM motors who need a stable, efficient, and proven ESC design.
