A precision barometric pressure and temperature sensor designed for advanced environmental measurement and altitude applications. It offers ultra-low noise, detecting elevation changes of approximately 1 cm, and high-accuracy pressure and temperature measurements. It supports I2C and SPI interfaces, providing flexible integration with a variety of microcontrollers. Adafruit 6413
Adafruit BMP585 is a modern, high-precision barometric pressure and temperature sensor based on the latest generation of Bosch sensors. It is an evolution of the popular BMP2xx and BMP3xx series, designed to deliver even higher accuracy and measurement stability. The sensor is well suited for environmental monitoring applications, altitude measurement systems, and as a high-precision altimeter. Thanks to its extremely low noise level, it can detect altitude changes as small as approximately 1 cm. The BMP585 supports both I2C and SPI communication, allowing easy integration into a wide range of projects and connection topologies. In I2C mode it is ideal for simple installations, while SPI enables the use of multiple sensors without address conflicts.
The sensor offers high relative accuracy of ±6 Pa, corresponding to about ±50 cm of altitude difference. It can also measure temperature with an accuracy of ±0.5°C. A distinctive feature of this model is the pressure port, which allows a tube to be connected, making it ideal for use in drones, flight stabilization systems, and specialized measurement setups. The module is software-compatible with BMP580 and BMP581, simplifying migration of existing projects. It is mounted on a ready-to-use breakout board with an integrated 3.3 V voltage regulator and logic level shifting, ensuring compatibility with both 3 V and 5 V microcontrollers. STEMMA QT connectors enable quick plug-and-play connections and daisy-chaining with other Qwiic-compatible modules. This makes the BMP585 an excellent choice for educational projects, prototyping, and professional measurement systems.
