Description

The D42V55F7 voltage regulator is a high-performance synchronous buck (step-down) converter designed to step down input voltages of up to 60 V to a stable 7.5 V. It features low no-load current consumption (<0.2 mA), making it energy-efficient even in standby mode. Its compact size allows installation in space-constrained environments. The D42V55F7 is an ideal solution for microprocessor systems, IoT devices, automation, and hobby projects where stable 7.5 V power with high efficiency and safe operation is required.

Thanks to switching technology (SMPS, DC-DC), the converter offers significantly higher efficiency (up to 95%) compared to traditional linear regulators, minimizing energy loss and heat generation. This model can deliver a continuous output current from 4 A to 7 A at low input voltages, providing stable power even for demanding circuits. The unit includes reverse voltage protection, overcurrent protection, and thermal shutdown, ensuring high reliability in harsh operating conditions. The soft-start function limits inrush current and smoothly ramps up the voltage at startup, protecting connected devices.

The converter offers a set of pins for flexible integration into a power system. VOUT provides the regulated 7.5 V output, while GND serves as the common ground reference. VIN is used to supply the input voltage, with the minimum operating voltage depending on the output voltage and dropout. The VRP pin outputs the input voltage after reverse voltage protection — it can serve as an output for powering other devices or as an alternative input bypassing this protection. Additionally, there is a PG (Power Good) pin — an open-drain output indicating proper output voltage — and an EN pin, which allows enabling or disabling the converter, including in low-power mode.
