Seeed Studio XIAO MG24 is an advanced development board that stands out for its versatility and performance. It is based on the Silicon Labs EFR32MG24 SoC with a 32-bit ARM Cortex®-M33 core running at 78 MHz, providing high computational power with low energy consumption. With support for Matter®, Thread®, and Bluetooth® Low Energy 5.3, it is an ideal solution for IoT applications, including smart homes, wearable devices, and automation. The built-in 4MB Flash memory and 256kB RAM enable handling more complex applications, including those utilizing artificial intelligence algorithms.
The board is characterized by extremely low power consumption – in sleep mode, it consumes only 1.95 μA, making it an excellent choice for battery-powered devices. With its compact dimensions and classic XIAO design, it can be used in space-constrained projects, such as wearables or sensor modules. The integrated battery charging circuit allows easy integration with rechargeable batteries, while the LED indicators (power and user) facilitate device status monitoring. High RF signal quality and the built-in antenna ensure stable wireless connections, and the Bluetooth range reaches up to 50 meters in open space. If needed, a U.FL connector is available for connecting an external antenna.
Seeed Studio XIAO MG24 supports Arduino IDE, making it easy to program even for beginners. Built-in security features, such as the hardware cryptographic engine, ARM® TrustZone®, and Secure Boot, ensure data and application protection. The 19 available GPIOs, including analog, digital pins, and I²C, UART, and SPI interfaces, allow extensive project expansion and integration with various peripheral devices. The board is fully compatible with additional modules from the XIAO family, including LoRa, CAN-Bus, LED Matrix, ePaper Display, Vision AI Sensor, and many others. It is the 12th member of the XIAO family, making it part of a growing hardware ecosystem.
XIAO MG24 finds applications in smart home projects, health monitoring devices, and environmental monitoring. It works excellently as a central unit for automated lighting projects, smart locks, or environmental sensors such as temperature and humidity monitoring. It can also function as a controller in low-power remote controls for home automation systems. Due to its small size and functionality, the board can also be used as a module in mass production, ideal for integration with PCBs in custom projects.
