Description
SENT-USB enables connection of an SAE J2716 (Single Edge Nibble Transmission) bus to a computer equipped with a USB port. The device is suitable for automotive sensor diagnostics, ECU testing, SENT communication analysis, and integration with automation systems and test benches. Power is supplied directly from the USB interface, while communication is handled through a virtual COM port.
The converter features two independent SENT channels that can operate as inputs or outputs. Each channel supports Fast Message, Short Serial Message, and Enhanced Serial Message formats according to SAE J2716:2016. Users can configure channel direction, tick time down to 0.5 µs, nibble count, and message filtering rules. Built-in non-volatile memory allows configuration settings to be stored and retained after power cycling.
The free SENT Gateway Analyser software enables configuration, monitoring, logging, and simulation of SENT communication. An open communication protocol and available .NET SDK simplify integration with custom software, test benches, and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HiL) systems. Additional features include intelligent frame filtering, CRC fault injection, firmware updates via USB, and a 5 V DC output with over-current protection.
