Driver for bipolar stepper motors with STEP/DIR interface, microstepping up to 1/16 and adjustable current via onboard potentiometer, compatible with 3.3 V and 5 V logic, version without soldered headers. Pololu 5342
Pololu 5342 is used to control a single bipolar stepper motor in applications requiring current regulation and microstepping operation. The module is based on the A5984 IC from Allegro MicroSystems and uses the STEP/DIR control interface, enabling integration with microcontrollers in automation, robotics, and prototyping systems. The driver supports full-step, half-step, and microstepping modes up to 1/32, with motor current limiting implemented via an onboard potentiometer.

The carrier-format PCB without soldered connectors allows flexible installation in target applications, including direct wire soldering or the use of custom connectors. Motor power is supplied from an external voltage source in the 8 – 40 V range, independent of the logic supply. When operating at higher output currents, adequate heat dissipation from the IC is recommended. Current-controlled version.
