Description

BeaglePlay is an open-source single-board computer designed to simplify adding sensors, actuators, indicators, user interfaces, and connectivity to a reliable embedded system. It uses a powerful 64-bit quad-core processor and innovative connectivity options including Wi-Fi, Gigabit Ethernet, sub-GHz wireless, and Ethernet with power over data line. With compatibility with thousands of ready-made add-ons and a dedicated Debian Linux image, BeaglePlay makes it easy to expand and adapt to existing projects. It also includes connections for cameras and touchscreen displays, and a slot for a battery-powered real-time clock, making it ideal for human-machine interface projects.

BeaglePlay is based on the Texas Instruments AM62x Sitara™ processor, which is a quad-core Arm® Cortex®-A53 SoC. The computer is equipped with 2 GB of DDR4 RAM, 16 GB of eMMC memory, a full-size HDMI connector, a USB-A host port, a USB-C power and connectivity port, and a serial debugging interface. The module also includes a Qwiic connector, an ecosystem of sensors, actuators, expansion modules and I2C cables that make prototyping faster and less error-prone. All boards supporting Qwiic technology use a common 4-pin JST connector with a pitch of 1 mm. This reduces the amount of PCB space required, and the polarized connections ensure correct connection of expansion modules.
