The Adafruit CH9328 UART to HID Keyboard Breakout allows for easy and fast emulation of a HID keyboard without the need for a microcontroller with native USB. The module is used in prototyping projects, automation, integration with single-board computers and in testing devices where keyboard signals are required. Thanks to support for various transmission modes and simplicity of integration, it is a practical tool for electronics engineers and embedded system programmers. Adafruit 5973
The Adafruit CH9328 UART to HID Keyboard Breakout module lets you emulate a HID keyboard using any microcontroller or computer with a UART port, without the need for native USB support. The CH9328 converts data sent over UART into keystrokes, allowing you to emulate a keyboard using older microcontrollers such as the ATmega328 or ESP32 and ESP8266 modules.
The module uses a USB Type-C connector to communicate with a computer or mobile device, and also provides easy access to the power (5V, GND) and data (RX) lines. The operating mode is configured using four DIP switches that allow you to select one of four transmission modes: from simple ASCII character transfer to sending raw HID reports. The module does not require soldering when using a JST SH cable.
