Module with E-Ink display with a resolution of 250x122 pixels and a diagonal of 2.13 inches. Module in the form of HAT overlay for the Raspberry Pi computer. It allows you to display two colors: black and white. The display has a built-in controller, communication takes place via the SPI interface. It has a partial refresh function. Displays of this type are characterized by high contrast of the displayed image and low power consumption.
The module is compatible with Raspberry Pi 2B / 3B / Zero / Zero W. There are materials and examples of use with Raspberry Pi / Arduino / STM32.
Pwnagotchi is a unique project based on Raspberry Pi, designed for passive testing of Wi-Fi network security. It was created as an intelligent tool that learns from the surrounding wireless networks and captures so-called "handshakes" – data used later for attempts to crack Wi-Fi passwords for educational and testing purposes. Pwnagotchi is inspired by the concept of Tamagotchi, the interactive virtual pet that users could "communicate" with and help develop. In the case of Pwnagotchi, its "personality" and efficiency improve over time, as the device uses artificial intelligence algorithms to optimize its actions in different environments.
The device operates in a passive mode, meaning it does not interfere with the network but simply listens to the network traffic and captures data for further analysis. Pwnagotchi is mainly used by security professionals and enthusiasts who want to learn more about Wi-Fi network security and improve their defenses.
In this context, the Waveshare 2.13-inch e-Paper HAT is recommended by the creators of Pwnagotchi as the optimal solution for displaying key information about the device’s operation. This display, thanks to its e-ink technology, consumes minimal energy, which is crucial for battery-powered projects like Pwnagotchi. It can display important information such as the number of captured handshakes, device status, or battery level. The screen is also highly readable in various lighting conditions, making it ideal for outdoor use.
Pwnagotchi not only analyzes and "learns" from networks but also interacts with other Pwnagotchi devices if it encounters them within range, allowing for even more advanced capabilities.
