Programmable 5.2" e-paper display board with 1280 × 720px landscape resolution, based on ESP32 with WiFi and Bluetooth 4.0 LE. Features approximately 0.22s partial refresh, microSD, RTC, Qwiic and support for Arduino, MicroPython and ESP-IDF. Version with e-paper display, without enclosure or battery. Soldered 333333
The device Inkplate 5 Gen2 by Soldered features a 5.2" e-paper display based on the E Ink ED052TC4 panel with a native resolution of 720 × 1280px. In the default landscape orientation used by the Inkplate library, the working area has a resolution of 1280 × 720px. The display supports black and white together with 6 shades of gray, has no backlight or touchscreen and requires no power to maintain already displayed content.
The module is based on an ESP32 microcontroller with WiFi and Bluetooth 4.0 LE connectivity. A full screen refresh takes approximately 0.99s, while a partial refresh takes approximately 0.22s. The board includes a microSD card reader, a real-time clock and a Qwiic/easyC connector. Available GPIO lines together with I2C and SPI interfaces allow the device to be expanded with additional sensors and modules.

The USB-C connector is used for power and programming, while the CH340C converter provides USB-UART communication. Inkplate can also be powered from a Li-Ion battery, and the onboard charging circuit allows the battery to be used without additional modules. Deep-sleep current consumption is approximately 18µA. The board supports Arduino, MicroPython and ESP-IDF, and its Arduino library is compatible with Adafruit GFX. Dimensions of the module with the display are 130.59 × 75.23mm. Product variant 333333 is supplied with the e-paper display but without an enclosure or battery.
