Description

Waveshare 31063 includes a 3.97″ e-paper display with an integrated HAT+ driver board, designed for use with platforms such as Raspberry Pi, Jetson Nano, and microcontrollers using the SPI interface. The electrophoretic display technology enables image rendering using ambient light without backlight, reducing power consumption.

The display retains the last shown content without power, while energy is required only during refresh operations. Resolution of 800 × 480 pixels and 4 gray levels allow clear presentation of text and graphics in applications requiring good readability. A viewing angle exceeding 170° enables comfortable observation from various positions without contrast degradation.

The integrated driver board compliant with the Raspberry Pi HAT+ standard features a 40-pin GPIO header for direct connection to Raspberry Pi boards. The SPI interface (3-wire and 4-wire) supports communication with various platforms including Arduino, STM32, and ESP32. An onboard voltage level translator allows operation with both 3.3 V and 5 V systems.

Applications include price tags, warehouse labels, information panels, IoT systems, and measurement devices where low power consumption and readability in ambient light are required.
