Description

ESP32-S3-ePaper-3.97 provides an integrated development platform for low-power IoT projects and portable devices. The ESP32-S3R8 microcontroller with a dual-core Xtensa LX7 processor clocked up to 240 MHz supports 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g/n) and Bluetooth 5 LE, enabling wireless communication in networked and mobile applications.

The board includes a 3.97" e-Paper display with a resolution of 800 × 480 px. e-Ink technology ensures wide viewing angles, high contrast and a paper-like appearance without backlight. Power consumption occurs mainly during screen refresh, supporting long-term battery-powered operation in information displays, environmental monitoring systems and portable terminals.

The version with battery features a 3.7 V Li-Ion cell connected via an MX1.25 connector and a TG28 power management IC handling charging and battery control through the USB Type-C port. An MX1.25 RTC backup battery header maintains timekeeping when the main lithium battery is disconnected.

Integrated peripherals include a microphone, ES8311 low-power audio codec, NS4150B audio amplifier, QMI8658 6-axis IMU (3-axis gyroscope and 3-axis accelerometer), PCF85063 RTC, and SHTC3 temperature and humidity sensor. A TF (microSD) card slot enables local data storage. Support for ESP-IDF and Arduino IDE facilitates rapid implementation of display, sensing and AI voice interaction projects.
