The module is equipped with an AS5600 magnetic encoder with a resolution of 12-bit. It allows for non-contact measurement of the angle of rotation. The module has an analog/PWM output and an I2C interface. By default, the output is between 0 and 360 degrees. It is also possible to define a smaller output range by programming the zero angle (start position) and the maximum angle (stop position).
The kit uses a magnetic disc and hall effect sensors to provide 12 counts per revolution of the motor shaft. The sensors operate from 2.7 V to 18 V and provide digital outputs that can be connected directly to a microcontroller or other digital circuit.
