This expansion board for the Raspberry Pi Pico and Pico W features a microSD slot, a real-time clock (RTC) (PCF8523) with a battery backup, and a STEMMA QT/Qwiic connector. This makes it ideal for projects that require data logging or accurate timing. It features soldered connections, a reset button, duplicate pads, and a labeled GND strip for easy experimentation and modification. Adafruit 6355
PiCowbell Adalogger is a compact, fully assembled expansion board designed specifically for Raspberry Pi Pico and Pico W. With built-in features such as a MicroSD card slot, a real-time clock (RTC), and a STEMMA QT / Qwiic connector, this module is perfect for projects that require data logging, environmental measurements, or precise timekeeping. The PiCowbell Adalogger has the same size and shape as the Pico board, allowing it to be mounted directly underneath the main module without the need for additional wiring.

The Pre-Assembled version comes with factory-soldered headers, eliminating the need for soldering and making it ready to use straight out of the box. The board includes a MicroSD slot connected to the SPI pins, allowing for easy expansion of memory for measurement data or system logs. The RTC is based on the PCF8523 chip with battery backup (CR1220), ensuring accurate timekeeping even when power is disconnected. The JST SH connector in the STEMMA QT / Qwiic standard enables simple connection of sensors and modules communicating via the I2C bus. The board also includes a reset button for quick program restarts and convenient, gold-plated pads with additional solder points, making modifications and experiments easier. Ground pads are clearly marked with rectangles, and a long GND strip runs along the board for easy grounding connections.
The module is compatible with both Arduino and CircuitPython/MicroPython. Simply configure the SDA and SCL pins (IO4 and IO5) depending on the environment used. Thanks to its versatility and well-thought-out design, the Adalogger PiCowbell is an ideal solution for educational, hobby, and professional projects where precision, simplicity, and reliability matter.
