Description

Doppler radar module with 24GHz BGT24LTR11 transceiver, which allows for precise distance measurement, detection of the direction of movement and measurement of the speed of a moving object. The module is based on the XMC1302 MCU microcontroller with the Arm Cortex-M0 core and uses the physical phenomenon of the Doppler effect, analyzing the frequencies of waves generated and received by the device. The board is equipped with a Grove connector, so it can be used with the Base Shield V2 and Arduino extension. The module communicates via the UART interface and is powered with the voltage of 3.3 V or 5 V. It will be used in projects related to security systems, and its operation is not affected by unfavorable factors such as high temperature, rain and dust. Full documentation of the module with examples of use is available on the product page.

Doppler radar works by sending a beam of electromagnetic radiation waves from a transmitter (TX antenna) at a precise frequency to a moving object. When the electromagnetic radiation wave comes into contact with the object, it returns towards the receiver (RX antenna). When the wave was reflected off a moving object, it now has a different frequency to the original it was emitting. A change in this frequency can be used to calculate the speed of a moving object.
