Description
RPLiDAR S2 Seeed Studio is a low-cost new-generation laser scanner enabling two-dimensional distance measurement in a 360° range on a plane with a maximum range of 30 m for light objects and 10 m for dark objects. The device generates a point cloud of the surroundings, which allows the creation of space maps and the execution of localization and navigation tasks. Thanks to Time-of-Flight measurement technology and the acquisition mechanism developed by SLAMTEC, the sensor performs up to 32,000 measurements per second. The applied contactless transmission of power and signal eliminates durability limitations found in traditional lidars, ensuring long-term and stable operation. The S2 offers high resistance to lighting changes, stable measurements on different surfaces, and proves effective in both indoor and outdoor environments. It is used in mobile robotics, mapping, SLAM, monitoring systems, and smart toys.
