Compact ESP32-based controller for addressable LEDs, designed for projects using WLED. Power is supplied via USB Type-A at 5 V and up to 2 A, while two signal outputs with 5 V level shifting provide control of compatible LED lighting. The board features WiFi, Bluetooth, an I2S microphone, an infrared receiver and screw terminal blocks. Adafruit 6332
The Adafruit Sparkle Motion Stick controller is designed for compact addressable LED installations, particularly projects using WLED software. The board is based on a dual-core ESP32 running at 240 MHz, with 4 MB of Flash memory and support for WiFi, Bluetooth LE and Bluetooth Classic. Power is supplied directly through the USB Type-A connector, with maximum input parameters of 5 V / 2 A. The power circuit is protected by a 2 A resettable fuse.
The board provides two LED signal outputs with logic levels shifted to 5 V. Together with the 5 V and GND power lines, they allow compatible addressable LED lighting to be connected. Screw terminal blocks provide solderless wire connections. A built-in USB-to-serial converter with automatic reset simplifies ESP32 programming.
The built-in I2S microphone enables sound-reactive lighting effects, while the infrared receiver connected to GPIO 10 allows an IR remote control to be integrated into the project. The board also includes a user button on GPIO 0, a red LED on GPIO 4 and a small NeoPixel on GPIO 18.
Sparkle Motion Stick can also operate as a compact ESP32 development board with software created using Arduino, ESP-IDF, MicroPython or CircuitPython. Compared with the larger Sparkle Motion board, the Stick version supports only 5 V power, provides fewer outputs and does not include I2C/GPIO breakout pads for connecting external accessories. The board measures 67.5 x 18.6 x 11.7 mm and weighs 7.5 g.
