A compact, wireless light and sound effects controller based on the RP2040 microcontroller with a Raspberry Pi RM2 Wi-Fi and Bluetooth module. It allows you to control mono and RGB LEDs, create lighting animations, and play sound effects thanks to the built-in I2S audio amplifier. It supports sensors and modules via Qw/ST and JST-SH connectors, and effects can be triggered by motion, sound, or remotely over a network. The plug-and-play kit includes a full set of accessories (LED, speaker, PIR sensor, and power supply). Pimoroni PIM753
Tiny FX W Starter Kit is a compact yet extremely versatile wireless lighting and sound effects controller, designed for models, dioramas, and creative DIY projects. At the heart of the kit is the RP2040 microcontroller paired with the Raspberry Pi RM2 module. The RP2040 features dual Arm Cortex-M0+ cores, enabling parallel processing of tasks such as lighting effect control and wireless communication. The onboard 4 MB QSPI Flash memory with XiP support allows fast code execution directly from flash, reducing system latency and improving overall performance. The integrated RM2 module provides stable Wi-Fi 2.4 GHz and Bluetooth connectivity, enabling integration with mobile apps, online services, and remote control of effects. Thanks to a rich set of interfaces—including LED outputs, an I2S audio amplifier, and Qw/ST and JST-SH connectors—the controller works seamlessly with a wide range of sensors, modules, and accessories without the need for additional circuitry.

The controller allows brightness adjustment, creation of dynamic lighting animations, motion simulation, and ambient light pulsing. Effects can also be triggered in response to motion, sound, or other environmental events. The integrated audio amplifier makes it possible to add sound effects that perfectly complement the lighting. The kit is designed as a plug-and-play solution. Thanks to its small PCB size, it can be easily hidden inside models, layouts, or decorations. Tiny FX W is ideal for dioramas, dollhouses, and decorative installations. It is the perfect choice for creators who want to combine light, sound, and wireless control in a single project.
