MyoWare 2.0 Muscle Sensor is a module with a muscle tension sensor, a universal electromyography (EMG) sensor from Advancer Technologies. It is easy to use, and with its compact design and dedicated layout, it offers good performance and reliability. The snap-in connector system eliminates the need to solder the connections, allowing the user to easily connect the sensor to the development board.

The sensor measures muscle activity by measuring the electrical potential of the muscles, commonly referred to as surface electromyography (EMG or sEMG for short). The system analyzes electrical activity and sends an analog signal (0-VIN, where VIN is the voltage of the power source) that shows how much the muscle is tightened. MyoWare 2.0 offers three types of output: Raw EMG (raw data), Rectified (rectified signal) and Envelope (linear signal).

The MyoWare 2.0 Muscle Sensor tile is powered with the voltage from 3.3 V to 5 V, has a reverse polarity protection and LED indicators. The module connects to other expansion boards from the MyoWare 2.0 series using snap pins.
The MyoWare 2.0 system allows you to build devices for the medical analysis of muscle tension, as well as controllers used in the areas of robotics and video games. Modules are prototypical elements and therefore are not intended for diagnosis or treatment. Full documentation and numerous examples of use are available on the product page.
