Description

The device PIR Movement sensor board by Soldered detects movement by sensing changes in infrared radiation within the sensor's field of view. Passive detection does not require the sensing element to emit energy. The sensor responds to moving objects such as people and can be used in alarm systems, automatic lighting, energy management systems, and other projects requiring motion detection.

The detection range is 3–5m, with a viewing angle of up to 100°. When movement is detected, the digital output goes HIGH, allowing the signal to be read directly by a digital input of an Arduino, Dasduino, or another microcontroller. An onboard potentiometer provides adjustment of the output delay.

The board provides two signal outputs. SOUT delivers the direct sensor signal, while DOUT provides a delayed output signal. The remaining pins include VCC and GND. The manufacturer specifies a nominal delay of 2s.

The supply voltage range is 2.7–12V, while the board measures 38 × 22mm. The 3.2mm mounting holes are designed for M3 screws. The manufacturer provides software and hardware documentation as well as open-source hardware design files.
