

A kit for building a weather station. Contains proven SparkFun sensors: wind direction and speed sensor and rain sensor. The set will be used in agriculture, in meteorology and in hobby applications.
The sensors do not contain active electronics, but instead use magnetic reed switches and magnets. They require a power connection for proper operation. Cables terminated with an RJ11 connector are led out of the measuring modules.
The rain sensor is a self-emptying bucket type rain gauge that activates the momentary closure of the circuit when rainfall is detected at 0.2794 mm. The anemometer (wind speed meter) codes the wind speed by generating pulses with each revolution (speed 2.4 km / h generates a pulse once per second). The wind direction is transmitted as the voltage produced by the combination of resistors inside the sensor. The paddle magnet has the potential to close two switches simultaneously, allowing 16 positions to be read.
