The board is equipped with the RP2040 microcontroller designed by the Raspberry Pi foundation. The system has two ARM Cortex M0+ cores operating at a frequency of up to 133 MHz, 264 kB of RAM and 30 GPIO ports. The microcontroller is not equipped with flash memory, but on the board there is an external memory with a capacity of 2 MB connected via the QSPI interface.
On the board, apart from the RP2040 chip and Flash memory, the user will find a 3.3 V voltage stabilizer, Boot buttons, USB type C connector for powering and programming the module and 23 GPIO outputs, on which peripherals such as four 12-bit ADC inputs, PWM outputs, two I2C, SPI and UART interfaces.
The platform supports popular programming languages, including MicroPython and C/C++. Programs can be uploaded to the memory using the USB interface. The module has a spacing of connectors compatible with breadboards, which facilitates prototyping of devices. Full documentation is available on the product page.
