DIY soldering kit for building a compact programmable macro keyboard based on the RP2040 microcontroller. Features 5 MX switches, a programmable rotary encoder, USB-C and QMK firmware support. Compatible with Windows, macOS and Linux. Soldered 333347
The device Macro Pad Solder Kit by Soldered is a DIY soldering kit for building a compact programmable macro keyboard. The circuit is based on the RP2040 microcontroller with two Arm Cortex-M0+ cores running at up to 133MHz and 264KB of SRAM. Five mechanical MX switches can be assigned to keyboard shortcuts, commands or sequences of actions, making repetitive computer tasks easier to perform.
The device also features a programmable rotary encoder, which can be used for functions such as volume adjustment, scrolling or other custom controls. Macro Pad runs QMK firmware, allowing the keys and encoder to be configured according to the user's needs. The default firmware provides functions including media control, microphone mute and volume adjustment. The device is recognized as a standard keyboard and is compatible with Windows, macOS and Linux.

The USB-C connector is used for power, communication with the computer and microcontroller programming. The kit includes five MX switches with keycaps and a rotary encoder with a knob, while compatible mechanical components can be replaced if required. The board measures approximately 70 × 70mm, and the manufacturer rates the assembly difficulty as Level 2. The design is open-source, with an assembly guide, QMK files, schematics and 3D-printable enclosure files available.
