The ESP32-WROOM-32 module-based robot controller is a multifunctional device that provides a wide range of functionality and support for various applications. The use of WiFi, Bluetooth and ESP-NOW wireless communication allows easy connection to other devices, as well as remote control of the robot.
The controller has built-in interfaces dedicated to motors, making it possible to control DC motors with or without an encoder. Additional interfaces also allow the connection of servos controlled by the serial bus, and allow the connection of peripheral devices such as OLED, IMU, etc.
The device is equipped with a built-in 9-axis IMU sensor to measure acceleration, angular velocity and magnetic field. It also has a built-in MicroSD card slot and interfaces for connecting peripheral devices such as Lidar sensors. A built-in 40-pin GPIO connector makes it easy to connect and power a host computer such as a Raspberry Pi or Jetson Nano.
The controller is equipped with a multi-function expansion connector for additional functions, such as controlling servos or relays. A built-in IPEX1 antenna connector allows the connection of an antenna for a better connection to a WiFi network.
The robot controller is powered by the XH2.54 connector with a voltage of 7 to 13 V, which means that 2S or 3S lithium batteries can be used directly for this purpose. The device also has a USB Type C interface for ESP32 programming, allowing easy software updates and code debugging. The manufacturer provides a rich set of examples and demonstration codes, making it even easier to start playing with the module.
The 3mm diameter mounting holes allow the device to be easily mounted on a robot or other device, making the robot controller ideal for engineers, hobbyists and students who are designing and building robots. Full documentation is available on the product page.
